Is this the flu or withdrawal?

Posted by Gee on February 15, 2006, at 17:41:45

I'm slowly tappering off Effexor. But right now I can't tell if I'm feeling sick because of the withdrawal or if it's the flu. There has been a nasty flu going around here, and I cannot be getting it. I feel sick to my stomach, tired beyond belief, not hungry... Any ideas?

Of course it can always be the flu, especially at this time of year, but it's very possibly withdrawal symptoms. They feel like the worst flu you've ever had. Try to cut back as slowly as you can, Gee. It's easiest on your body.

Best of lluck to you!

Sounds more like the flu, but you never know. I hope you feel better soon!

I just had I'm sure the flu, but wasn't sure.
I think the only way to know is based on symptoms distinct to viral/bacterial infections.
symptoms not part of withdrawl:
sneezing, coughing, excess mucus, and temperature over 98.6.
symptoms very similar though part of withdrawl:
sniffling, aches, naseau, tiredness, depression, weakness, etc etc.
I say take your temp before you take any tylenol.
If its high chock it up to a virus/bact. Also. Otherwise it begins to get more and more foggy and darn hard to tell.
The similarities are rather curious no?
In aristotles time there was no linguistic differentiation between physical and mental pain. They were one in the same. Is there really??? Hmmmm?
