I need help for my partner.He was a drug alcahol addict who went to rehab and stayd sober 7 years.Then for reasons of grief and loss he became mayorly depressed so he went to a psyc who put him on sodium valporate and aropax.He suffered a severe adverse reaction to these(out of character anger,rage,suicidal feelings,paranoia,nightmares) and overdosed on his pills plus paracetamol plus alcahol.At the hospital he was further drugged with seroquel,risperidone,and the valporate and aropax.When he came out of hospital he gave up the drugs cold turkey.He has heard voices ever since,negative voices which tell him to either hurt himself or other people who have hurt him badly in the past.He has good days and bad days but weve found any kind of medication or alcahol will bring it all back(including voices nightmares flashbacks and fear).He could take no more of it last year and went back to hospital only this time he was so overmedicated he couldnt walk or open his eyes.Then he was diagnosed schizophrenic which is a load of bull because apart from the voices the symptoms just dont match at all.It was disturbing to watch what that hospital did to him.He became a completly different person.Once again he came out and stopped the drugs cold turkey.Why wont those stupid voices go away?(its been one and half years now)were the drugs stopped too quickly?or was permanant damage done by those drugs?What do we do?Apart from these voices and negative thoughts he is fine.Any similiar experiences or advice would be appretiated.
