Guess what goes away after SSRIs

Posted by SallyW on November 13, 2005, at 10:28:29

I'm off zoloft now for 3 months. Guess what went away too? That restless leg feeling. Now when I go to bed to go to sleep, my legs just want to lay there. Sometimes I would have to "jiggle" my legs so I could go to sleep. The other night I tried it, and my legs didn't want to. After 8 years of zombiness on zoloft, I'm looking around my house and seeing all of the stuff I need to do now. I put 3 new lights on the front of the house yesterday. The old ones were so corroded. I need to paint inside. The wallpaper in the kitchen needs to come down and I think I'll just paint this time. My living room is stuck in the 90s, it needs something too. Oh, and the weight gain thing. I saw something the other day that explained weight gain on SSRIs. We gain weight because they make us feel better. Bullcrap. They take away your impulse control and if you see a donut, you HAVE to eat it. Well, I'm starting to "melt". The weight is coming off slowly without really trying. I don't eat all the time and I can resist things and the reasonable part of me says, you don't really need that. Wait until you get home and just have a sandwich or the soup in the cabinet. I have better control in my classroom because I've lost the "I really don't care feeling" and I haven't had one single thought about running my car into a tree. In fact, I tried to think about it the other day and it just seemed stupid. So, all in all, I feel GREAT!!!!!!!!!! Now, if I could get back the 8 years I seem to have lost because I was addicted to zoloft, life would really be great.
