Effexor withdrawls

Posted by crazymom1 on October 17, 2005, at 23:46:19

Can someone help me? I just went off my meds 4 days ago and can't take a whole lot more. I was on Effexor for 1 1/2 years and had to quit. At first, it helped me calm down, gain weight(I was 104), and kept me motivated. In the last few months, I have become very lethargic and incapable of feeling much emotion. I tried weaning off of 150mg. I went down to 75 and then 37.5 and couldn't take it. I finally quit and now I feel absolutely mad! I can handle the nausea. I don't feel dizzy, so the Benadryl is non-effective. The brain zaps are going to push me over the edge. Does anyone have any ideas on how to calm them down? I can't drive with them and had to send my kids to their father's house. I hate feeling like a bad parent and I miss them so much. I have no choice but to get through this. Please help me!

It gets better, I have been off effexor 7 days now. I had nausea, dizziness, and feeling like my head is in a fog. I force myself to still go running, think positive and I've been taking Bovine for motion sickness (nausea and the head thing). My pharmacist recommended it. She also went off effexor. I was on it 1yr 150mg. I went to 75 then 37.5. now nothing.
