Klonopin taper/eqivalencies

Posted by Paul Smith on September 21, 2005, at 15:37:37

What is .5 mgs of Klonopin worth in Valium? I know Heather Ashton`s opinions are highly regarded on the net. She would say it is worth 10 mg of Valium, but that seems steep to me...

By the way, doing my third and last withdrawal. My system just becomes tolerant way too fast to these drugs. Have cut from 2 mgs of K to .675. Leaves me disabled to work, but usually able to function in necessary day to day things. Not sure I can really manage a slow taper but would be interested in suggestions in this. Outside of intervention will be destitute and offline soon. U.S. & state govts are not interested in helping unless you are towing child and I am not.

Though 20 mg seems high from the .5 mg, it's actually fairly accurate. Some people have even switched over to a higher dose because they either switched too quickly (should go very slowly over several weeks, cutting by half one dose at a time), or they've not been able to stabilize. In any case, you'll find tapering from valium a lot easier. You should consider trying to get the liquid valium if possible. It's easy to figure the equivalency between liquid valium and valium tablets. It's also simple to measure out using a child's syringe, dropping the valium into a full glass of water.

Good luck
