I have been taking Effexor for about 18 months.
Two weeks ago I took my "last" dose, after having cut back from 150 mg per day, to 75 mg every 3 days or so for about 2 months with no withdrawls. After quitting altogether, I experienced the dizziness and nausea off and on for the next week. Nothing too hairy and I thought, Yay! I am going to succeed this time. I missed the last 2 days of work, because of severe dizzy/nausea/sweats/headaches and NO energy (I am a construction worker) I went to the Doc today, and my blood pressure was 80/60. I am normally a little low, but that is crazy.
Doc's advice was to eat more salt to raise my blood pressure. I took a dose of Effexor tonight because I can't afford to miss work. She said that the withdrawls can last for up to 6 weeks give or take....sigh.

Hi,
Maybe you can taper down even more, I know 37.5 capsules are available. Don't give up, you are so close.
Best Wishes !

You are doing great! Force yourself to go about your business. I know how hard that is, but you find you feel better when you're distracted from the symptoms. I'm going through it with you. Hang tough.

Thanks You Guys, I ended up taking a half dose day, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to go to work - it does make a difference to know that others are going through the same stuff.

Also when I tapered off effexor (with no withdrawal) I even cut the 37.5mg tab in half and just kept taking tiny amounts for ages. Is there a rush to come off it? Just do it really slowly week by week.
