Hi. I am looking for some thoughts...
I have been on some form of medication for most of the last 7 years. Most recently I was taking effexxor and wellbutrin from about 8/01 to 12/04. I started to realize the medication was doing weird things to me, was diagnosed with fibromayalgia, and when a doctor tried to increase the dose, i noticed everything got worse. Yet, going off effexor was a nightmare. And, admittedly I didn’t really taper much because I only had so many pills. That was January. I have since gained a lot of weight. The last few months have been a blur, but at some point I decided wellbutrin was the cause of this (when I first went on effexor I actually lost weight..). So I stopped taking welbutrin and bought a bunch of books on amino acids, etc. I thought they were helping to some degree. I've slowly made a few strides. But, then this weekend I totally broke down. I now can barely function. I had a friend call me Monday night and we had a long chat about it. Obviously, I need to go back on something. ..
Thing is, I don’t have a psych here. I am looking for a decent one who takes my insurance and thus far, the soonest apt I can get is June 6. I know I can’t continue like this. I have started taking the welbutrin again. But, I saw somewhere on this board that often they don’t work the second time around? Should I once again add the effexxor, thinking perhaps doing that might relieve all the bloating?
