Hi. I am on a low dose of Trileptal - 450mg, but I want to come off. I want to see if my depression improves without it.
Would 150 mg every week be too fast? I guess I could split the caplet so that I am only going down by 75 mg at a time instead.
Thoughts? Suggetions?

I think you can just yank it.If you don't mind performing an extended taper, you have nothing to lose.
If I decide to go off of it this week, I intend to drop from 600mg to 300mg for a few days and then discontinue it. I might not even bother doing that. Of course, this would not be the right thing to do if you are prone to seizures.

Thanks Scott. I guess I more worried about increased insomnia than anything - LOL! But I agree,I think I can come off this med rather quickly.
