It's going to take a long, long time

Posted by Mariqua on May 3, 2005, at 21:18:09

I am starting to think this is going to take a long time to get off this drug! I was on 56 mg for a week and went from a pill and a half to a pill and a quarte yesterday and by this afternoon I had a headache and starting the withdrawal again. Should a person feel the withdrawal if it is an acceptable amount when you wean down? I broke down and took the other half about an hour ago and already feeling better. Is it in my head???? If it is common to feel withdrawal for a little while, like a day or two as you wean, is that okay or should you always feed the withdrawal and just wean slower? I'm so confused right now and discouraged. I didn't think a quarter of a pill would make that much of a difference. I guess I don't know what I am really up against here. Any comments would be appreciated.

Thanks again!
Mariqua

What drug are you coming off?

Scott provided an excellent explanation of how I should come off Clonazepam. I think his response will help you too.

I am coming off of EffexorXR. Sorry, I forgot to include that. I read that and I guess I will just try to have patience and do it a few granules at a time if I have to. I see my doc tomorrow so, I will see what she has to say about all of this.

I think you have to have patience. There's no better drug to help your withdrawal than some of the drug you are addicted to (or dependant on). The consistant application of the right form of restraint.
