the schools were saying that they did not have enough buildings to house all the students. they did not have enough classrooms. many of the classrooms they had were substandard. not insulated. too cold. too humid.
they did not have enough teachers. because they would not pay them. so the teachers would leave. so they didn't have enough teachers for the classrooms.
so covid came and everybody is required to stay home.
and now covid is ending and they can't decide if they want the kids to be not attending or if they want bums on seats. that's their own wording and phrasing of what they are trying or aiming to accomplish. they are trying or aiming to keep the bums on the seats so as to keep crime rate down, apparently. less home violence if the kids are in school. less breaking and entering and so on if the kids are in school. if the bums are on the seats.
but when the bums are on the seats the kids get the chance to see the kids who are supposedly most clever who have been picked out to rule etc etc. and the kids get to see which kids can apparently get the right answers on the problems... they can see how they are getting the right answers... who is giving them the right answers. the grading schedule. who is grading. whether the grading is according to schedule. whether things are fair or whether instead of working to learn you realise that the job for you is over however many other people's dead bodies. apparently. that's what they are most keen on having you know.
the solution is to be clearer about the actual schools. so, as you would have prisons with the board or the mangement not being incarerated themselves... you would have members of the board on the public schools sending their kids off to private where they can do equestrian sports on weekends etc etc...
when they aren't being beaten with bed legs. there is always that, of course.
so the entire school cohort is marked, already. whether they are allowed to pass NCEA, or whatever.
the tests are a farce in thse parts. they are designed to scramble. only.
even at university... they would say that the mark or measure of a valid high end distinguisher question was the fact that the question elicited the correct answer in only a small percentage of students. that is to say, the kids at some school could get taught arbitrary rules like 'if you genuinely cannot distinguish between A and B on a multi-guess then always select the letter sequentiall prior' and if things are random otherwise... then they can elicit what it is that they want. a question they regard to be a high end distinuisher that is only answered correctly by the small percentage who were informed to answer in that manner or that way.
the meaning falls out. the value. yes. all of that. all of those things.
well, that' snot true...
let's be clear on what and who we are serving. who'se your daddy. who'se your god. what is the aim? the point? what is the end game, here? What is the natural final solution? What is maximal efficiency? How will we know when it has been arrived at? what is it all for, again???
There once was a Philosophy Professor at Waikato who argued that we were morally obliged to be nepotistic and preferentially help out and asisst people who were close to us rather than being fair and objective in various things. So then... what became of her husband? I think he was bullied out of completing his PhD with Otago... They never did get his PhD to external examiners. Apparently he has 'bi-polar' which means he is only suitable, now, to be a home-maker and always dependent on her and her salary for his way of life. So that is her... Um... Living her ethics and values. I suppose... I mean... I guess it's a slippery slope, to be fair. If you are allowed to bias for your 'friends' then why not just set yourself up as your own friend. In other words, ethics is really about serving you at the expense of everyone else... That's what ethics is or means. That's what justice and fairness is and means. It's about everyone being subservient to you...
What are her kids doing? I guess they are dependent on her for as long as she can get away with that...
That's then interesting, hey. Nepotism... That' sabout keeping your kid dependent on you. Right? Appointing them into positions that are dependent on you. It's about granting them freedom? It's about dependence on you...
Riiiight....
Clearly the final solution to any ethics problem...

they had to hire her because they didn't have anybody else to teach ethics.
they had a former student who had graduated with a PhD in ethics... but they only graduated him because he made a convincing display of not applying for any job in philosophy and instead working in a video store.
really, being dependent on his wife who was a council employee. since he was financially dependennt on her and they assessed that giving him a phd wasn't going to change the social order or the natural order of the world or of things in the world they gave him his phd.
but they wouldnt' look at hiring him to teach ethics. instead they said there was not anybody in new zealand with the willingness and or ability to do that job so they chose to hire someone from south africa.
i don't know how much money she laundered from south africa into new zealand so that she could teach about how ethics is about prioritising your own interests preferntially (scaffolded by pretending to care about family)... she took out a grad studnet, too, by getting involved iwth one... i'm sure that her involvedment with him made it... less likely?? That Otago woudl progress him or allow him to progress through his PhD...

the previosu ethics professor...
was teaching philosophy in the girls school. there was a complaint about him when some kids mother found a sexually inappropriate message from him on her daughters phone.
he liked to party.
his wife worked fairly high up in university administration. there were lots of semi-formal parties at his house. he would be quite clear about how the catering budget was from the university.
for example, i remember attending semi-formal gatherings where alcohol and food etc was supplied from university catering that was attended by various administration big-wigs. the vice chancellor etc etc i do believe...
but he also had a party house out at raglan. a batch. and i think he was having events for the high school girls. who were enrolled in the philosophy in the schools programme via their private girls school in hamilton. i guess he was supplying them with references for their college applications (or not).
he was also on the waikato district health board ethics board.
so you can see what kind of university waikato chose to be with tehir hiring decisions and with things that were regarded as okay up through the highest levels of university management.
what happend to him when the kids mother complained? I think it was a big deal because some of the girls mothers at that school would have cared about their kids actually genuinely... not just keen to pimp them out to the highest bidder (or on the promise of a university reference or the like. maybe the chance of a place in medicine oooooh myyyyy!!)
he died. apparently. so they didn't need to make any further inquiries.
one of the other staff members who had been sexually involved with... 2 undergraduate students from computer science, i believe (one of whom was a philosophy graduate before enrolling in undergrad comp sci, but another of whom was an undergraduate studnet) was moved to a different university in melbourne...
so we can see why there never was going to be a job for me, in philosophy.
i just don't have the skills that they value.
just so you know what it is that they value.
apparently i'm too old, now. their proclivities are for younger and younger. AUT apparently hired a 14 year old vietnamse student to do finance. she was deported on graduation. i think her 'guardian' (informal) went with her...

so now they are making a big deal about a recent policy change at the university of victoria wellington wellington wellington wells.
you have to keep saying wellington wellington. so that nobody thinks you are talking about victoria university of melbourne australia.
like you have to say the auckland university of technology university. so that nobody thinks that the auckland university of technology is a polytechnic (which it formerly was). that's what happens to polytechnics when they learn to get good (git gud), you see. they become second rate universities. and when the new zealanders get with the project (like sterelny, hayes, leeks) they move to australia.
share the love (so to speak) over there...
so the policy is going to be that staff aren't allowed to have sexual relationships with studnets.
(1) The courts of NZ have proclaimed to the world that it would be ultra vires for teh Universities to follow their policy.
(2) They will just say that when they were sleeping with their graduate students they were sleeping with them in their capacity as tutor. That is or means to say the relationship was between 2 faculty.
(3) No other Universit plans to introduce the policy.We don't have universities.
We are not a developed nation at all.
We don't appear to have currency. Money.
The New Zealand Dollar... I guess it's less legitimate than BitCoin.

I think the New Zealand dollar is the most trafficked unlawful currency in the world or similar. I think there is oemthing like that about it. I guess because the entire thing is bogus. It's just a cover up on not paying Australian Wages and keeping people stuck in their detention camp.
Keeping people bi-polar homemakers. Appanretly. I don't know how much South Aftrican funds were laundered to pay for htat position in NZ society...
