we have a rug, well mom does, it was worth 1000s, and i used the metal beater on the vacuum and put it all the way down to 2, and it ruined, well i mean not ruin but i looks like its been beaten so hard, and i can't reverse it. Metal beater i thought would dig deep, which it did but it damaged the bottom of the rug. Nowo it looks shaggy. I hate it, the carpet feels fluffy after the metal beater, but the rug took an impact and no reverse to restore it. I am not happy....

Aw. I'm sorry rj. You were trying to help. Sometimes things turn out sh*tty, despite our very best of intentions. Sucks.
Maybe it will settle with time? What if you stomp on it / trample it a bit??

it looks beared, not sure i was trying to get the dirt out of it, put it on level 2 then level 1 then later noticed carpet looked beat or ... diffrent, 1000 2000 doller rug, but its old and that's the thing Oh well, it still looks ok but no vacuum streaks go through it

it looks fine but it doenst make any vacuum streaks anymore, im such a kid obsessing over spilled milk but i am not happy...

can you stomp it down??? That's what I mean. Can you... Turn it over and hit it back down. Stompity stomp stomp... Put concrete blocks on it... Something... I don't know...
I was concerned about it ripping loop pile wool apart...
But you were trying to help it be better, I understand.

thanks, it's not ruined like in litteral terms but it took a beating, looks altered, maybe i will do that pick it up and shake it, but its the big one in the living room, it's very large, covers the living room
ill have to pick it up next time i vacuum and try to shake it back
