My kitchen renovation is past the stage of planks of wood everywhere, and I am able to cook, wash, and put things away.
Still work to do, but I am a happier babbler after 6 months of not being able to do anything except make tea and order take out. I had an electric skillet, but no horizontal surface to put it on.Ahhhh....

Congratulations!!!
I've been unable to cook for less than a month and I'm already planning everything I want to cook when my arm is out of this blasted sling. I'd go crazy after six months of not cooking. (Or to be more precise, not getting to eat what I want to eat.)
I can't believe how much I miss cooking myself, so I understand how you feel.

It upset me to no end.
I even tried "limited" meals, like doing stuff in the microwave. But I had no way to prep food! Argh.
I made matzoh ball soup and sent my first sip up to my father in law, God rest him.More work on the kitchen, but it is mostly noise and no disruption. I'm sorry you are having it rough. My experience tells me for you not to try to battle this, but do your arm a favor and truly let it rest. Order out. Go to restaurants. I put on some weight, but my anxiety level went down.

That is great news! I hope that they get done with their noises soon, too. I bet you won't know yourself when they are gone from your kitchen.
