Heart on your sleeve.

That's how you live as a parent. I try to have conversations with my now adult son, and cant help but give warning or advice whether its health, diet, driving. I try to refrain and find it near impossible. After a long talk today, I knew I overdid, preached too much. I ended up texting him, "just enjoy ur life. be concerned about things but not overly concerned. & never text & drive or drink & drive." I couldnt stop myself from a few words of caution.

Gadchik, I found it was that way in the beginning and then the older they get the less this happens. P

I think that too. As the years go by, and I see that he survives, I will quit giving him these warnings! I remember mom doing that to me,and I really didnt listen too much, I did what I wanted at the time. But also, I see alot of myself in my son. He's careful, and researches things, but he's not a worrywart like me. I think my pets help me alot through this time of transition, as we discussed on the magic pill thread! Thank God, or whoever's up there for animals. : )
