I listen to music every day. I was listening to this on the freeway while wondering why a car was turned the wrong direction on the opposite lane of the freeway today.

Glenn Gould said something like recording was democratic in that it gave everyone an equal seat at the concert hall. Not that it can replace live music, but who can get to Carnigie Hall where Mr. Bird played once btw.
Music has been a haven for me and I am glad to be well enough to listen again. For a long while I could not. Think of the refuge that music has provided for all sorts of folks. Elvis, Michael Jackson, Janis Joplin, you can add anyone here no matter what you may think of the way they may live their lives.

They live their lives OK.
They are not great criminals or psychopaths :)
Politicians are a bit suss, but the singer of this cover is the Australian Environment minister, from a truly great American band.

This comes much closer to capturing that quality.
I can still remember it, even now.
Being young?

This song reminds me of being young. I'm not sure why. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NySQiCamNK4&feature=youtube_gdata_player
The environmentalist sounds very young. The world is young.
I wish I had left Michael Jackson out of my post and just stuck to Elvis. He's who I has in mind and that Gillian Wlech song Elvis Presley Blues. Jackson I recall seeing a picture of him dangling an infant out of a high-rise window. As much as I
avoid television even that much squeaked through. I didn't mean my post to sound as though artists deserve carte blanche. No talent elite thank you. No elite.
This is the end of the thread.
