Canada lost one of it's most important and amazing persons this past week, NDP leader Jack Layton. His life was stolen by Cancer, at age 61. The outpouring of feelings from many millions across Canada and around the world have been nothing short of amazing. Even if people didn't agree with Jack's politics, his beautiful, strong and loving personality and his grace transcended everything. A really sad note to all of this is that Jack brought the NDP party to it's first ever role as Canada's Official Opposition party just a short time ago.
We said goodbye to Jack yesterday, at his State funeral, attended by thousands and watched by millions. Niagara Falls was lit up Orange (the NDP political colour) and the CN Tower also lit Orange last night.
A very, very large teardrop for Canada and humanity. "Suddenly you where gone. From all the lives, you left your mark upon...".....

Yeah, I was really sad when Jack died.
I don't follow politics much, but when he spoke, there was something about him that just made him incredably genuine and believable.

> LinkadgeI think so many cried and where sad because the good in humans (and Canadians) believes love will, truly, save the day. I am not saying this to be overly- mellow-dramatic. I feel it is when we are at our best that we truly "care". That is I think what we truly and deeply miss in society.
