I will be teaching a full math course load for one semester.

Now comes the real question...will my MI problems get worse or better...

I don't know you well enough to answer that question, but I'll pray for you and hope they get better. I think being productive and using your talents daily could be a very good thing for you.

are you teaching at a college/university? I assumed so, but I haven't been following the thread so I didn't know. I have family members who are faculty at various universities, and based on what I've seen them go through, my only advice would be to avoid university politics as best you can.

That is all.

No, I have to admit, I'm just a lowly high school math / science teacher.

hey Link,

sorry, for some reason I thought you were teaching at a college. HS is great! You could inspire these kids to love the subject. Just don't let the kids stress you out too much.

I wish I could remember enough HS math to teach it. Teaching HS math and science is a real challenge and requires a lot of knowledge. Nothing lowly about it.

No 'just' about that

What could possibly be more important?

You stand at the point of time to turn young people to an enjoyment of disciplines that can lead to any number of careers. So many are phobic about math and science. A good teacher can help with fear and encourage appreciation.

No pressure or anything. :)

Congratulations!

Congrats link I hope you do well. Dinah is right - a good HS math teacher can impact a lot of young minds, even more than a university lecturer. HS teachers are always more intimate with and interested in their students. A lot of students pursue math at university because of their HS teachers, and of course a lot of them spurn it just for the same reason.
