Whatcha up to?
Any woodburning or crafting?
Have you seen a film worth mentioning for better or worse?
The "T" (with the hair) situation seems under control, so I am less worried about that. Whew.
Tomorrow I order my geeky hiking poled. I think my days of kicking seriuos booty on bikes or in sports are definitely behind me, but I can feel some good hiking coming on.
Have you heard that mythic, often
repeated story if Indian runners (yes, least here the preferred term is not Native American, and I don't know why) who train in a hole in the ground. They imagine and
Lexperience running in that hole, and when they get out,
nothing stops them.Later crafty girl.
(Other crafty folk and activitlovers jump on in.)

Well hello there :-)
What sort of terrain will it be then?
I spend most of my time working... and fantasizing about what else I might be doing.
I'm trying to avoid misery if possible, but it knows where I live. Still, there are a lot of good things.
I go to the gym and listen to mindless books.
We have a new sweet, wriggly, frisky kitten.
I saw "Salt" recently, and I liked it.
I want to go for walks, play the geeetar and try to breathe easily.
I'm going to get a decent amount of sleep, very much needed.
Seen any good movies lately?

:D
> I go to the gym and listen to mindless books.I haven't heard an audiobook in ages? How shamelessly mindless? When I once had a long commute, an hour each way, I would borrow CD books from the library. It was wonderful. Not the working in between, but the long commute on a relatively open highway.
> We have a new sweet, wriggly, frisky kitten.
Named...? Sigh. I miss having a girl cat. A kitten. Now that is a remarkable phenomena. Have so much fun with him or her. Catnip?> I saw "Salt" recently, and I liked it.
Remember my address, first rock after the hairpin turn on a one lane road...? What is "Salt"? A documentary based on the book? How was (whatever) it (is)?
> I want to go for walks, play the geeetar and try to breathe easily.
Ditto to the above except substitute decent wooden recorder for guitar. Electric or acoustic?
> I'm going to get a decent amount of sleep, very much needed.
Good.

No. I was hoping you have :D
I might be responding to emsam. Dare I have a flare of hope.? Today was actually livable. And the weather has been perfectly room temperature with things blooming that scent the air like orange blossoms--something sweet and clean.
I did weave a few rows, too.
Maybe we can create a great big distraction for misery. You know, then stealthily move out, or paint the outside of buildings. Or wheel big fake fronts
out--like in spaghetti westerns--or have a change of address like, please forward to Santa, c/o North Pole.Just to buy a little time.
Kinda' like death and taxes.
Hey, have you ever seen the old "Death Takes a Holiday"? Wash Brad Pitt from your mind. Rent the one with Fredric March. Blk & white. So lovely.
Supper is here. :-P

"Salt" is a movie with Angelina Jolie. She's a spy... I won't tell you the plot. It's a twisty one. I'm afraid I'm not up to anything as intellectual as the other "salt" you refer to.
I'm listening to a vampire book. I tried ones about life and loss and relationships, etc. and I just can't.The guitar is acoustic, classical, and lonely in the corner.
I'll look into "death takes a holiday". I slept well last night.
Hope you're enjoying the weather today :-)

Glad you slept well. That helps everything at least a little.
Self-help books. Well, ya just have to be up for them. Then again, enough can be enough, oy vey. (Ouchy spelling there.)
This morning I finally understood what you meant by terrain. Ummm.... Doh!
I haven't ordered the poles yet. After I put $69 and change into my gas tank, I decided I needed to reassess my account :-/
I have a normal old Japanese car. I had let it get very, very empty, aka gaslight
on. Guess it's a big tank. Still, $70? I felt like a cross-country truck driver paying a tab like that. Husband says expect to see $6 per gallon soon. And the US pays subsidized prices. Why did my county continuously vote down mass transit initiatives like rails?
My entire state for that matter.
I would think it would solve a number of problems putting in (or in some places merely revamping existing) railway.
Yikes. From the state that supplied the
historical background for "Chinatown".:( there has to be an emoticon for frowning....
Go bike riders!

very true

I meant fiction that represents some plausible reality. I can't even handle that...in most cases.> I haven't ordered the poles yet. After I put $69 and change into my gas tank, I decided I needed to reassess my account :-/
isn't it a bummer?
> Why did my county continuously vote down mass transit initiatives like rails?
failure to appreciate the future? denial? screwed up priorities?

> heck no, I didn't event mean those. not that I haven't read some, "the dance of anger" for instance, that was interesting.
So "the dance of anger" is good? My pdoc lent it to me, but, and this is silly, I was angry with him for awhile and didn't read it. Then got busy (doing nothing
much). I still have it. Maybe I'll crack it.> I meant fiction that represents some plausible reality. I can't even handle that...in most cases.
Umm. I have a difficult time with novels myself. The ones I want to read make
me cry, and the rest aggravate me. Do you mean you like fantasy? Sci-fi? Fantasy has really expanded as a genre.I can handle some history. That's not really intellectual, is it? Not horrendous history. Had enough of that. Wish I could read something intellectual, like
philosophy, but just get completely lost realizing I don't even really know the etymology or real meaning of the words and so what's the point?>
> isn't it a bummer?Oh yeah. It's like a massive blindspot. I used to live a different life. Lived in town, walked, rode bicycle, the bus. It was wonderful not to drive. Used our car for the highway or go to the city. If I did live in town, and even not, there are these funny little two seater totally electric cars around here for under $4,000. I think they max out at 30mph. We are not in a position to buy one regardless. Unless I add up all my $70
gas charges! My husband's work is installing recharging stations. Kinda' cool. But aren't the batteries toxic?May your Monday be merciful : J

I read that book sooooo long ago that I can't tell you much about it. I only remember that it made sense in some satisfying way.
I was listening to "don't sweat the small stuff for a while in the car", but it annoyed me a little. Is that ironic?
I really live the idea of a simpler life, devoted more to home, without my resources spent so far away from it.
I can get 8 hours of sleep if I start now. Let's see if that makes me more functional.
Take care,
Sleepy

Hey, now you're talking.
Why did my country close the rail line where I live?
Our great grandparents put it in when the population was a quarter of what it is now and when they all lived inland.
People moved to the coast. They closed the line down the coast here.
They don't believe in planning. Beats me.
This is the end of the thread.
