The Civil War

"The Civil War"

Anyone seen it?

It was the inspiration for "First Australians".

Watching "Deadwood" made me think it a good idea.

And reading "The Last Crossing".

You're never allowed to mention Hitler;you lose every argument doing so; but Deadwood made me reflect that this was what he (in his better moments and with various caveats) meant for Russia.

I've not seen it Sigi. Why is no one on Social these days? It used to be a busy board.

How do you know no one is here?

There may be less innocent explanations.

I saw the first of the Civil War series yesterday. Pretty wonderful.

Seen Deadwood? It's amazing. Like Shakespeare.

Like cultural illiteracy? That's my excuse. And yes, I have heard of Hitler and Russia. Australia too. I'm not quite that much of a cliche. But I haven't seen and/or read any of the titles you mentioned so I couldn't comment. Or understand your references. I'd love to see you elaborate a little however. Who knows? It might even inspire me.

The reason you could not understand my references is that I could not manage to do them properly. I was trying to do 4 or so at once, one of them a book and the rest films. Let me try again, one by one this time.

"The Civil War"

It might be like those fun things you do when you're young......walk around the cemetery late at night on a full moon, and when the acid kicks in you wonder if people are hiding behind the tombstones :)

You're not wrong there. No comparison at all.
