Merry Christmas to everyone!
Today is my birthday. Yep, Christmas day. Some years I dont mind... this year I do. Really depends on my emotional state any given year I guess. So far, both my best friend and significant other have said nothing. No "happy bday" etc. My best friend called earlier and wishes me a merry Christmas, and my significant other sent me a text message of the same. I expect he'll call later. But no mention of birthday. Both talked about it a few days ago, so I know theyre both aware... people just get wrapped up in Christmas and forget. On one level, I get it. I know birthdays are more of "kids holidays" and it's not as big of a deal as an adult. And Christmas certainly IS a bigger deal than a birthday on any day. But I just want the people closest to me not to forget. It hurts a lot more than I guess it should.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday so far. :)
(btw, many of you probably dont recognize me.. this is the first time I've posted in 6mos, maybe even a year. But I've been reading...)

I'm a bit late, but here's a belated happy b-day to you. Don't feel bad about people forgetting. My Mom totally spaced mine one year. And it's less than a week after my brother's, which I know she remembered.

Maybe your s/o and friend where just a little too caught up in the hoopla of the time of year. I hope you don't feel bad about it...as I had the same thing happen in previous years. Myself, I was surprised this year, as my bday is just a few days before Xmas, and I hit the lovely 4-0. I had more people than I ever imagined (thanks largely to the internet) wish me a happy bday this year. But, that was mostly due, I think, to one person announcing it to everyone else.
Well, a belated happy bday, merry xmas, and all that!
Jay :)
