Umbrella stands

Posted by Sigismund on December 23, 2009, at 18:45:58

I read in The Guardian that an ant-fur activist has left a provision in her will that her feet be made into umbrella stands.

How it would be implemented....can you have human artifacts lying around? (You can certainly have subhuman artifacts in museums....as soon as they are seen to be human they get repatriated.)

Anyway, I think this is a very good idea and I'm thinking of how I might make this or some similar provision in my will binding.

Any ideas?

My general idea is that I should refuse to pay for the crappy funeral if I can't have my feet so treated, but then the funeral expenses are the first to come out of the estate. You can always leave a bankrupt estate, but then there's no money for the umbrella stands.

Thank you for you comments, Bay.

It might need a bit of shank to hold up the umbrellas, I realised on reflection, but that would be easily reinforced with a bit of ribbing.

Perhaps I could auction off the rights on ebay, with the proceeds to pay for a nice (Eastern) Orthodox funeral, which allows none of the testifying that has become de rigeur these days.

I get the rationale, but what a morbid idea.

Dang, I clicked the wrong wee box.

I had said....

"When making you funeral arrangements, please remember to add the expense of a good quality pedicure."

See, now it's not so funny. Poo. Timing is key.
