advice from an alien

Posted by manic666 on August 31, 2009, at 12:55:13

its been 2 years since my bigest breakdown , i was admitted to hospital on a p docs blunder , when took by family to hospital because frankly i had lost it big time, it happend before an will again but this was a bad one . i was self medicateing on 10mg ativan an a full bottle of brandy, the p dogc said stop the ativan an the brandy cold,an take effexor , an sent me home . 3or 4 days later overdosed going crazy loosein 10 ativan , that should take a year to get off , but he didnt believe i had access to 10mg but i did,in hospital effexor rise 225mg, shakeing like a food blender, lay on walkin shower floor for hours ,cold water runnnig no help from the sh*t staff an p.dpoc only 2mg valium..bluffed out of nut house an went to my gp, convultions all the time , put me back on 4mg ativan saved my life, NOW i would love to lodge a complaint as it has damaged me behond repair, but would it go against me , i still need the hospital , i dont want to be out cast as a trouble maker but im mad an it never goes from my head , but i run the risk of a relapse with pressure i may get,the laywer,s seem to think its a no go,lets face it im mentally ill who believes me.do you think i should let it go .

THIS IS A QUESTION I ASKED ON ANOTHER SITE , KEEP READIND THIS NUTS ANSWER

It's impossible to be "here" today if I am living in yesterday. Working on acceptance of what has happened may bring freedom. If you can't accept just yet.. start by accepting that you cannot accept. Even that.. is acceptance.
THATS WHAT HE WROTE BACK???????????????go to my answer next

Manic, you're in the UK, yes? I'm pretty sure there's an mental health advocacy group there. I could do a bit of looking for an email addy for you. I think starting with a lawyer is a problem; that is, they are part of the problem. But there's a movement afoot in the UK to educate and advocate on behalf of us loonies when the system doesn't work the way it's supposed to.

Shall I look into my contacts for u?

Brian i have just been reading your blogs, they are all quoet,s from self help books, witch is cool if thats your bag, some are imformative an some frankly a load of bollocks, you sound like your on some mystic journey fueled by your book,s. there are many stage,s of anxierty , the worst that lead.s to clinical depression,i am that man , triggers in our brain that wont be moved by self help, could you tell me you state of anxierty an the meds you take or have taken, hospital an p doc experiences, a point came in my life i new only meds would save me .i didnt want to admit it but was told by docs an p docs its the only way foward or sink , your answer,s to me are of a man obsessed with finding a life that dont exist, in life you kick *ss ,get sick, fall in love fall out of love ,get mad ,find peace . lose it, the list goes on, that is life not like you say forgeting the past , or looking to the future, live today witch is impossible, to blot these thing from your mind like past an future would make you a zombie an totally unable to live in todays world, good look with your books if they help ,, you may find something in them but real life im afraid not. im not daming your idea,s if they work for you, i do question the severity of you illness, i cannot work with mine , your peace an tranquility you seek to find is on star trek an not of this world, stay safe

Might take a few days to get the info. Hang tough my man. I'll be in touch, see if it gets you anywhere. I think that hospital and clinic complaint lines are shite.
(No one knows how to swear like the English, with the possible exception of the Australians... off topic.)

Are you able to get a copy of your medical records. It may cost you a fee, but you would have a copy of everything before you lodged a complaint.

If this is consuming you..make the complaint..even if it doesn't go anywhere, or they try to bury it or minimize it..you may get some peace from having been heard.
