Hi Nurse Jackie and welcome to babble. I'm wondering if you're justing looking for alternative methods or meds. Might also want to post on alternative and medications board. If chose to stay here that's fine. May I ask if there have been any changes in your life or do you have a history of anxiety or depression? Love Phillipa

Hi Phillipa. Thnks for your post. I'm new to psycho babble and learning where to post so thnks for suggestion. I'm trying to wean from being on 20 mgs of prozac for over 10 years. I am afraid it has flouride in it .. depending on who you talk to you get different responses. Funny. I think my serotonin levels have always been okay .. i usually got good results w prozac for eating issues and generally just going through normal life issues -- hope this makes sense.

You know, I've heard lots of good things about those flintstones~! I believe in a good supplement base for sure.

Hi and welcome nurse jackie,
I don't know about vitamins (choc flavored Flintstones or otherwise), but what helped me through the blahs and other withdrawal symptoms was exercise, healthy diet, sleep, and supportive therapy. Even though I felt like sh*t and had difficulty getting up most of the time, just the act of taking care of myself made me feel stronger.
I also decreased the dose very slowly and made sure I was at a good place in my life, when things felt fairly stable and I had decent support systems in place. But what I found to be tremendously helpful was having fun and physically challenging hobbies like snowboarding and fencing to distract me from the weaning pains. Hang in there and take it one day at a time. Much luck to you.
Ava
