a friend once told me that I was verraten, verlassen, und verkauft. Not sure, could have been in a different order - my german is about as fluent now as Napolean's army retreating in a Russian winter.
He was upset that I even considered leaving the club on the North Sea (seas were rough that night) with a disco goddess. My german commune friends practically kidnapped me to "save" me.
Life in a commune in Ostfriesland had its disadvantages.
