I leave Thurs. morning. I am anxious. Maybe I should take a propranolol.

It is past midnight now, so that means I leave tomorrow, Thurs. morning. I will have to wake up at 6 am.
I am anxious. Maybe it will be better once I'm in SF.
I hope so.

I had assumed you were there and gone.
(I'm anxious too. Maybe I should have another whiskey?)
I'd be in a panic about being able to get to sleep.
Maybe the motto should be
'Worry while you have the chance. It might not last.'

You are experiencing anticipatory anxiety. This is perfectly natural. I still experience this type of anxiety when I am to go to a social function where there are a lot of people. However, I recognize that my worst fears rarely materialize. Sometimes there is no concrete reason for having this type of anxiety. Just the thought of entering an unfamiliar environment or situation can provoke anxiety. It can be as simple as having a fear of the unknown.
I think one can make it easier on themselves by understanding that anticipatory anxiety often disappears once one has entered the situation. If you believe this, you can then increase the probability that you will have a comfortable, enjoyable experience. I can guarantee you that you won't be the only one having anticipatory anxiety.
You will be okay.
:-)
Have fun.

I feel better today knowing I am all packed and ready for my trip. I just have to pack my cell phone which is charging and my laptop, which I am using right now. I have many checklists. I have a checklist for things to pack, a morning checklists, which includes takings meds and making sure I have money etc., an evening checklist and a bedtime checklist.
I have a detailed itinerary with instructions on what transportation to take as well as maps I've printed off of the bus stops and where I have to walk to.
I have a first aid kit and a mini pharmacy for everything from backaches to nausea to heartburn.
I like to be ready. LOL
I am ready for my trip.
