Things went pretty well! Everybody is REALLY nice, and I have my own office! Its SO CUTE! Every office has different colored walls and mine are pale sage green. I plan to decorate in my favorite color, purple (there's already a purple clock in there). I love green and purple together! Also, they have a cappuccino machine in the breakroom which is cool, but also kind of evil (its so easy for me to get addicted to all that caffeine and sugar)!
I'll admit, the job is a little scary. I am going to have quite a lot of responsibility. I have a lot to learn and it all seems so complicated right now! But if I can pull it off, I will really increase my skills and make myself more marketable. I think once I start getting the hang of it the every day challenge will be fun. I just have to get past this initial scary phase!
I felt like I handled the day pretty well, but I think the stress may have caused me to get hives! I have always been prone to them, I have a skin condition called dermatographism. Basically its very sensitive skin, and when you scratch it, it causes it to itch, whelp and turn red. I think the stress of the first day caused it to flair up and by the time I got home I was itching all over! I ended up taking 4 benedryl (sp). But I'm better now, and all that benedryl has made me sleepy, so I'm going to go to bed. Thanks for listening, I'll keep yall posted!

T cool deal love the clor sage. Sorry about the hives since you're sleeping they will go away I bet. Tomorrow concentrate on the great job you will do dazzle them with your skills, let them know you are willing to learn all they have to teach you. And watch the caffeine. Have a great day and definitely post how it goes. Wonderful first day went so well minus the hives!!! Love Phillipa

Btw-do we get any details about the job? Has it exponentially increased your self esteem? I ask because my time is coming and I'm scared, sniff sniff

Such good news (except the hives).
Hives are awful. I hope they go away really soon.
All the best TC - you deserve good things.

In honour of your new job I bought some purple flowers and put them in a green vase.
:-)
Thinking of you. The first few weeks are the most challenging.

The hives did go away. I'm not sure if they were technically hives, but they certainly seemed like it!
Today went better, I felt like things were beginning to make some sense. One thing is really making it a challenge though, they use PCs and you all know I'm a Mac girl! I'm taking it as just one more set of skills to add to my repertoire though, but it sure is annoying!
One positive thing I've realized is the two short term jobs that I got let go from recently have given me some much needed practice in areas where I really needed it. So I'm starting off further ahead than I would have if I hadn't held those jobs! So everything happens for a reason!
Thanks everyone for your well wishes. I'm a bit too tired to reply to everyone individually, but I really do appreciate the support!
