I've been working a part-time job and my desk did not come with much of anything office supply wise. Today I needed a scissors and I asked someone for a pair and she asked in jest "is there a reason you shouldn't have a scissors?"
Uh, well, er, maybe, I think I'm safe, I'm kind of a klutz, but no- no reason I can think of.

Tell her as long as you refrain from running with them you should be okay.
Of course, my response would have been, "Hey, I was COMPLETELY cleared of that!!!" - but I have a peculiar sense of humor.

The first thing I thought of when I read the subject line was, "Those little safety scissors they give you in Kindergarten?"
You already know pretty well the extent of my warping, so you won't be surprised to learn that I think it would be hysterically funny for you to take in a pair of those little scissors, and tell her, "I got a more appropriate pair..."
