this question does not imply a total sense of futility, gut wrenching despair or hopelessness...
but seriously,
What is is that you think you have to accomplish in order for it to be "enough"?
Please advise,
thanks,

The purpose with no creater, where smart, intelligent humans that just some how where created resulting from an explosion, many years later. That in text. The purpose for us, to build a society. Brain is complex and has designed to make choice, sweet or sour. The enviorment is a relection, as complex as we are, cities, computers, humans designed it.... Ourselves, building, becoming intelligent. An easy way, we live life with no expereince, sometimes wisdom and desernment come fast. People live in peace as they are go no more, some other try to reach further than and want to become better. Unfoutunatly, some have nuerosis, or depression because of problems or errors, or just want to watch life, not handle it. But we seem all to have a personality and diffrence between us, its indiviuality. Created for a purpose is logically superior over plants, animals, anything exept the weather.
Design computer programs, as a reflection of our own creation, design.
Whoa!.....i went into a trance saying that!
Just conquer your problems....and be the boss of your life.
The spiritual awnser: we where born to a creator, and have to obey, but we get rewards in return. And somehow..... Logic, science and spirituality some how are connected?
- hope that helps.

To leave the world a bit better off than if I'd never have been born.
To do small acts of kindness.
To love (the verb).
When I think of the purpose of life, I think of my grandma, or a couple of my aunts, and the love they show their families, and the kindnesses they extend to so many. I think of how loved they are in return, and how blessed.
I'm not so good as my grandma, or my aunts. I tend to pursue pleasure a bit more than peace and happiness. I don't know that I'm fulfilling my purpose as well as I should. But I have no doubt whatsoever of what that purpose is.

I'm doing well enough I guess.
I think the question of the meaning of life can evoke intense feelings in people. :) It's a pretty big question. It's good that you have a good sense of purpose.

To do the best you can and give to others and help others. That's the meaning for me and I raised my kids with love and not criticism. Phillipa and of course to be a great Mom to my pups and cat.

Whenever I am asked that question, I reply that "Life is its own purpose". I don't think that one person's answer to the question will satisfy all. There are some who, having read my first sentence here, would contend that I am an atheist. Nothing could be farther from the truth. My belief in God is well consolidated. However, in the absence of certainty and consistency regarding religious depictions of God and Man, life obviously replicates itself through an innate drive towards reproduction. So, at the very least, life is its own purpose - to survive in order to reproduce. I find this consistent with my spirituality and belief in God. It actually strengthens this belief.
Why suffering of the innocent? I'm not sure, but it does exist. I can't know the mind of God. Only He knows his own motivations in establishing the order of the Universe. Scientists can establish the "how" things happen, but never the "why". Existence is a mystery for which I currently attribute to the workings of a higher power. I hope my spirituality in being comfortable with uncertainty remains with me.

It might be easier to answer the question "What is the purpose in life?" It is sort of like saying "I don't know why we are here, but now that we are, I can find purpose in life.
I don't know. It works for me.

yeah, it's just like you don't have to understand why you're here, you're just here
yeah, like life in the moment

geez man,
what a question....the purpose of life, my goodness
damn
well, let me see now
the purpose of my life has been to understand,
the best that I possibly could,
of what was going on around me
because you know a lot of the time,
I just couldn't figure it out,
sometimes I can now
but sometimes it has been really difficult,
like I can't understand what they are trying to say
people just don't make sense anymore
I don't get it
so I always have to try and understand,
I can never seem to shut it off
part of the purpose of my life has been trying to understand...well everything
I never know where I am going to end up
I have ended up in the craziest of places
holy freaking crap...the things I have seen
just don't make any sense
I try to understand chaos...that is just something else and everytime I see it, I'm like holy crap, that's freaking amazing!
I'm always on the precipice....I never get off of it, I always have to look over the ledge to see how far down it goes, to see how scary it isI'm not sure that made sense...but whatever
This is the end of the thread.
