Something that is good for people who are highly sensitive and suffer from anxiety, who have trouble dealing with the general public, who just want to be left alone to do their damn job. Being a graphic artist, the first thing I think of is freelance and working from home. But I don't know how you get started in that. I think if I had a more technical job, like a programmer, I might be left alone to do my work. Unfortunately I don't know how to do that. But I could definitely learn! Is anybody here a programmer? Could you tell me what courses I would need to take to get started? HTML, Java, C++... that's all I know. There just seems to be so many I wouldn't know where to start. Maybe I should just go into autocad.

Anxiety freezes me up so can't interract anymore. So doing the ebay but you gotta find a hot items. I froze the keys on my computer a night ago and couldn't even figure out how to unfreeze them to type . I was so mad at me I guess I had a temper tantrum as a 62 year old. Pretty sick huh? Phillipa

Unfortunately with freelance there are even more people to deal with. Not just bosses, but clients, and whatever support people you may need. Anxiety can be just as high. Maybe even higher, if you don't have a steady source of income. :(

Unfortunately I do believe it. Every once in a while I sell a few items on eBay, and I dread opening my email the entire time.
Yeah, being self employed isn't all it's cracked up to be unless conditions are very good.

Okay, so self employment may not be a good choice. But what is? There's got to be something not so stressful. And then there's the fact that it actually has to pay enough to support you. Its ridiculous what a huge difference it can be between income and cost of living. What is minimum wage now, something like $6 an hour? That's roughly $12000 a year, or $250 a week BEFORE taxes. Say you get lucky enough to find a place to rent for $500 a month, throw in a car payment, insurance & electricity. You've now used more than you earned, and haven't even bought gas or food yet! Man, life is just really depressing me lately.

Hey TC,
really I can't think of anything really since all jobs will involve contact w/ someone. whether its people you provide services to or peers in the workplace. to best fit the circumstances you mentioned would be to work with or for someone who understands your situation and so they can best accommodate you. but easier said than done. hope you're able to find what you're looking for,

Dinah usually dumb questions like will you take x amount of money. Since my stuff is boutique they are politely told think will hold on to the item. I do think the economy and gas prices more people are using the internet to purchase goods and the European and Canadian Market and Australia is pretty strong. Started doing the fixed price and just putting in our store on ebay and people seem to like it better than bidding and having to wait. Love Phillipa
