When giving oral medication to a cat with at least a little dumpster DNA (not confirmed but probable), timing is critical as is the element of surprise.

I told the vet that and he concluded it could be the case given his behavior after I had to leave him for a time for "stuff" to be done. : ) I was good enough to warn them ----
On a positive note, he's much better and while not completely in love with me after the medication events, his feline affect is mostly alright --- for now.
He's teaching me acceptance of the cat if not liking the behaviors. : )

Phillipa, com'on - why on earth would you be *stupid* for not knowing and/or wondering about what her kitty's illness is?
I don't believe it was posted here. If so, I'm also stupid, and I doubt you think that of me...
Please be kinder to yourself. Maybe you are hearing some old (or current :-( ) "tape" in your head that says: " everyone else knows stuff and I don't, or I never understand...," or blah, blah, blah....? Well, let me tell you, those tapes are all LIES, and, we can say No!, and rip them out and tear them up!! grrrrr.....

I didn't say his illness or the med name even.
He has a UTI and is on antibx.
We have bonded well and he doesn't like the med giving but he does, deep down, love me and I love him - otherwise, I would not have paid such close attention and knew the "minute" things we're right in that particular area of his elimination.
Dumpster DNA - if that's what was throwing you - refers to his assumed wild stock and less than proper manners - he has a mean streak that's quite long but has a very sweet streak that is also present. Much like his owner : )

Thanks guys yes a lot of old tapes and figured that the kitty meaning was known by others . I'd try and be kinder to me and thanks for the source of the infection. Glad you found it too. Love Phillipa
