1 year sober.....

Posted by cactus on April 23, 2008, at 16:03:05

...woo hooo, now for the benzo's. I can't believe how quickly it happened. It's still tough and was a rather nasty ride but worth every minute of it. I know it will never be over but that's life.

I've managed to get my clonazepam from 6mg daily down to 4.5mg and things are going well. One problem though, I can't seem to tolerate any other medication for restless leg syndrome. I'd be happy with a dose of .5mg to keep it under control but it's going to be quite a while until i get down that low. I also benefit greatly from the mood stabilizing properties of clonazepam. I suppose I'll deal with that one when the time arises.

Congratulations!

Thanks for letting us know.

I wonder if there's anything on the Alternative Board about additional things to try for Restless Leg Syndrome?

:-) Kath

thanks Kath, I've tried but nothing natural/alternative seems to help. Rivotril/klonopin or valium, which for me, have no side effects, have been great. I can't tolerate regular mood stabilizers at all. My liver can't deal with them and the other 2 options are codeine and ropinirole or mirapex which make me physically ill. Thank you for the thought though. C

hey there, prickly pear!

I'm so proud of you :)

Don't sweat the benzo stuff. one thing at a time. You're not a bad person just because you find relief from this much maligned class of drugs. nope!
