My daughter (13) loves to cook and so she has been taking over more meals (is very glad and eager) and my DH and her shop for the stuff she needs too.
So far this week I have had won tons and sweet and sour shrimp, pork chops with pecans and honey sauce, plus she made some very yummy cookies. And today I took her to the store so she can try sushi for the first time tonight. I bought her a kit at the bookstore. She is so excited. She is going to start with imitation crap though at first, but I bought her some red caviar for some real fish flavor.
But tomorrow I promised to make a home style baked chicken with mashed potatoes and stuff.
My daughters food tastes just like good restaurants and I don't have to make it myself so it is very nice when I don't feel like even making sandwiches. She amazes me on who she has become.

Wow!!! Just wait till she's in uni, and cook amazingly -- she'll be phoning asking for money for food cuz her friends will always be over eating! She's lucky to be able to do all this cooking!!!
Enjoy it and her!!

LOL I forgot about this post, I posted it weeks ago in the wrong place. lol
Well the sushi was good, the rice wasn't cooked all the way, so it was crunchy sushi! But her book says making the proper rice takes years to perfect. lol
Thanks everyone. I am really proud of my kids, all the hard work has been paying off, they are great kids, really.

naw, I don't think he would like being away from his mommy. He is off to a good start, cheerios, I know some teenagers who can't make themselves anything to eat if it doesn't come from MD's. lol You are doing fine as a mommy, it only gets better.
