I love Vista but I hate the instability. This time I couldn't even use the system restore. I suppose there is a certain value in restoring a computer to factory freshness and reinstalling things the way I wish I had done it last time.
But I think I'd rather choose when to do it.

The what with the who now? That's my nephew's current favorite saying for 'huh'? I'm a Mac girl and having problems myself. Windows is a foreign language to me. So.... no help here. Just wanted to let you know I share your frustration, even if you are a 'WINDOWS' user! (I tried to make that sound like some bad drug or something).

The funny thing is that I'm really uptight about backing up. I've got backups of my backups, off site backups, synchronous backups.
And I'm really glad I do.
But when it comes to reinstalling programs, I never find the backups help. The data yes, but there are very few programs that want to let you restore without reloading.
I know, I know. I fought the Windows giant black hole as long as I could. Then I let go and got sucked all the way in.
