It feels good to have my summer travelling over!
I feel like my life is so different. I am SO thankful that my son now is sharing a place with four other guys (one of them is about 50 & owns the house). It's a perfect situation for him, as far as fitting in goes. They don't keep it super-clean, so he won't tee them off in that regard. They smoke (cigs & one smokes weed) & drink some (but it seems not too much), so if he does that he won't be causing them problems.
My husband & I did end up getting him a computer so he can work on his music & he is doing so & is happy & positive.
I'm not happy that he smokes weed & does ecstasy on (I suspect) most weekends. NOT the greatest if you're on meds after a massive bout of psychosis! But he's symptom-free; takes his meds pretty regularly; is taking an interest in life; seems to be getting over his heartbreak about his girlfriend dumping him.
I am so relieved. I'm feeling like I HAVE A LIFE of my own. I'm not obsessing!!!!!!!! I'm being positive!!!!!!!!! Yay. S.A.D. hasn't kicked in (last year it started in late August!)
I'm making pottery for the Guild's mid-November sale & I'm excited about it.
I'm actually tackling the various areas of CLUTTER & age-old junk in my house (slowly, bit by bit).
I've been reading the book The Law of Attraction by Michael Losier. I really like it. One of the things I say daily is:
I love being one of the hundreds of thousands of mothers in the world who do NOT worry about their adult children. I started out by saying "I love it that there are hundreds of thousands of mothers in the world....etc" Then the words just changed by themselves to "I love BEING ONE OF...."
WOWAnyway, I wanted to post the positive news. I've received SO much support over the past numerous months during the VERY stressful difficulties that I've experienced with my son. I really appreciate it & wanted to share the positive new place that I'm at.

kath you touched my heart in this post. Your son, im so sorry to hear about it.
Soon i will be on my own. But really reading your i felt just this feeling, all this new adventure for you.

Hi Kath...
A couple of things. First, I still want to apologize for not getting back to your emails. As Bono so gracefully sings..".Sometimes, you just can;t make it on your own." That song was for his dying father. That song, I printed out the lyrics and all, I dedicate to my Dad.
Anyhow..I am off on a tangent (what else is new??..heh.) I am glad to hear your son is doing okay. When you said you bought him a computer for his music, what for making his own music? Cool...'cause I do that too. :-)
Season's end is upon us...I somehow always feel melancholic about that. Oh well. Anyhow...take care....Jay
