Its a big Rorschach test

A Rorschach Blot Puddle
Posted by Atticus on November 19, 2006, at 18:49:09

A Rorchach blot puddle
In the valley of an alley
Trails fetid steam tendrils
Between chipped bricks,
And funky junkie poets
Read meanings in the blobs
Wondering if it’s all
Hallocigenic tricks,
Curls of surreal
Amid paint as it peels
Are always good for
A few moment’s kicks,
And graffiti across
Sacrosanct asphalt halls
Becomes scripture that to
The fluid brain sticks.

I puzzle if it all
Adds up to a message
That my simple mind
Just can’t see,
But then I lose focus
Amid all the hocus-pocus
And I just decide
To let it all be.

I ask a man on a bench
In a coat of many colors
If this tableau adds
Up to very much,
He looks at me as if
I’m crazy which is
Close to the truth and
Offers a gentle touch,
Asks just what it is
I’m looking to find
To soothe a mind
That seeks to clutch,
The secret world beneath
The world before me
And asks me what
I’m trying to touch.

I puzzle if it all
Adds up to a message
That my simple mind
Just can’t see,
But then I lose focus
Amid all the hocus-pocus
And I just decide
To let it all be.

I was thinking that too. Wise words.

I don't know if we've met before, Q, but I apologize if I've been cranky lately. Just when I think I've mastered civil discourse I get all sensitive about something. Sorry.

Yes, I know. I've 'known' all my life.
That which embraces truth, honesty and integrity is good.
That which moves in the opposite direction is evil.
But in the end, good and evil are only relative frames of reference. There is no right and wrong. Left or right. There is no inertial frame of reference.
There is no absolute law.
Only pain and pleasure.
Balance and direction.
Free yourself from self-delusion and you will be free.

Oh, I forgot to mention force.
Never mind. I'm new to all of this and I'm not entirely sure what I'm talking about. So I'd best shut up.

Sorry Toph, for using brute force before reason. It probably seems intimidating and even a little bewildering, but I hope you can see I meant well. Now I just feel like a big clumsy oaf (even though I'm quite small), just like I usually do around decent people. I need to brush up my manners and be more considerate.

May I start again? I think I've seen your posting name a few times, but not often. I don't think we've been introduced. I've been a bit cranky lately too, so no worries about that - I thought you were just expressing healthy skepticism, and good judgment too. Then just when I thought I was getting enlightened I got over-excited and made a fool of myself in public - one of my main fears (social phobia), but I think that's on the wane. Anyway, did you read through the thread with the new sequence? If you did, did you notice a different... narrative?

I can't speak for Dr. Bob, but I am immensely grateful for the work he did here. I do believe he has the best interests of his babblers at heart, but sometimes he has a strange way of showing it. I empathize with that. I'm not exactly sure what's happening here, why it's happening, or what will happen next, but I'm sure it's not just my imagination, even though I do get carried away with myself at times.

I do perceive things differently to most people. And no, I'm not Dr. Bob in disguise, but in some ways we might be twins. Either Dr. bob is an A* psychiatrist, or he perceives the world in the same way I do, or maybe not, but I do think he's a brilliant psychiatrist, and with genuine compassion. I think I owe him an apology.

I don't know what else to say. I just hope I haven't frightened you away.

Best wishes,
Q

Unfortunately I don't have the time or energy for PB anymore, Q.

AS for us, it's all good.
