So, as you all know, I am the hysterical whacko who doesn't seem to attract women. Geezz..I've lost weight..got a whole new summer wardrobe. No facial hair..as in no goatee...a nice smooth buzzed haircut and well shaved mug. One of my friends who is gay is telling me.."Oh, you look great Jay!" And trust me, he holds no punches when it comes to critiquing 'looks'. But, I still know I am no 'model'. But...But...But...what about these other 'macho-pigs' that many women seem to go for? There where a couple of 'close calls' with me, where I might have made out well. I tend to attract 'brainy' chicks (not that I am any Einstein), and dated one last year for about a month. We had so much in common..our politics...beliefs..values, etc. But I made the BIG mistake there. I took up too much of her personal space room, and I felt like a real moron for not realizing that. One other time...this involves Psycho Babble...I kept in touch with this really nice gal who, I again, shared tons with.
Maybe she is reading this...I dunno...but we where geographically set in our places where we wanted to live. That was so sad...as she was a really nice...and we where both around the same points, career wise and such. And...it just went the way the wind blew. Now, my profile and pic just sit on a dating website, and I have contacted 15-20 women in the past month...not one single woman replied.
Okay..I'll stop. Thank you kindly for reading. :)

Henry Kissinger once said something to the following effect: "Power is the ultimate aphrodisiac."
Good luck - I sympathise with you.

I'm cursed with guys. Apperantly looks mean nothing, since everyone tells me I'm beautiful, but it's never gotten me anything. I've only had one relationship that actually made me happy and meant something to me, but he has mental issues right now and I don't know if I'll ever even see him again.

It only takes one. There was probably only one man on earth who would not only marry me but be reasonably content with having done so. But since I found him, one was all I needed.

i hope you find what will make you happy... but someone smrt once said that the way to make a man unhappy was to give him what he wants.
i think being in a relationship is highly overrated. Get a dog, they understand you better, won't care if you're not a model and will pre-clean your dishes... if that ain't love, what is?
that said.. seriously, get a dog. Nothing gets people to stop and talk to you more than walking a cute dog. Nothing too cutsie or butch... something med size and fuzzy/curly/shaggy. Adopting a sad sack from a shelter is even better - shows a sensitive side. My H says if he had known he would have gotten a dog years ago.. once he started walking mine gals always stopped to pet them.

>Well..for starters, may I ask how old you are and where (approximately) do you live? :) There are so many nice sweet women on here..maybe we need a PB 'Dating Board'.:) Like you, I had only two or so significant relationships, and where important to me (I am not really into 'casual dating' or the 'friends with benefits' thing) Yep, I have mental issues, but have kept myself not too bad over the last few years. It's only been rejecting women that have caused my head and heart troubles..lol.

Thank you Dinah...you are also always very kind. I've come close a few times...one just being we where at different stages in our lives...and the other...well that's why I am a tad ticked off at God for. But, I always try to keep Hope alive.

>Thank you for your post. I do have a really, really cute small dog...she is like my little 'baby'. She lays on her back, feet sticking in the air, and just wants her belly rubbed, and she will love you to pieces. I have had women stop and pet my 'little one', but I'd never have the guts to ask for a phone number or something like that. It's ironic, a bit, that I was reading this dating column, and the author said going up to ask women for their phone numbers or even email is the best way to 'get results'. I'm bass ackword anyways..lol.

well.. maybe just learning the art of conversation is the next step. i mean, you don't have to rush into every interaction hoping for a date.. kinda kills your courage and her interest (would mine). It's a fine line to walk to not end up "just being friends," but the first conversation could be that way... i mean "hey want to grab a coffee?" or "you could come with me to walk spot for while if you like" could be meant as just that... then see where the rest of the convo goes.
walk the dog in the same parks so you run into the same people.
i'm just tossing ideas...
but you know.. to be honest, i have *never* gone out with some guy i just met. It's always been someone i met because we had other people in common.
dating sucks. sorry.
This is the end of the thread.
