Always in a state of questioning life?

Posted by chiron on March 31, 2007, at 10:49:21

Why am I like this? Is it my personality? Is it depression? I have always constantly wondered what the purpose of life is cannot just let it go. I think at least part of it is because I always want to die and so I am drawn to evaluate and analyze. If I wasn't depressed would I be able to let it go? Is it because I think in multiple dimensions? Is it because I can't just live in the present?
I am also constantly wondering how people can go through life without giving it a second thought. Everything is weird to me. How is not so weird to everyone else? How do people do simple things like go grocery shopping without wondering why life is so weird?

I'm very much like that myself. When I started tianeptine I worried that I was losing touch with part of myself becuase I no longer felt the need to question things deeply. Modern life does seem weird to me, most people don't seem to realize how odd many of the things they consider 'normal' are and how what is considered normal changes over time. I value being able to think for myself and it's a trait I admire most in other people.

I found this book just yesterday and the opening pages (if you click on the 'look inside link) attracted me. Might give it a whirl.

"Living Druidry: Magical Spirituality for the Wild Soul"

These others also:

"Kindling the Celtic Spirit"
"The Solitary Druid"

Commune here with me and Mother Nature this summer solstice anyone?

Do they? They might.

OTOH they might be pretending.

Every so often one of them gets carted off, unfortunately not in Woolworths.

There's nothing simple about grocery shopping.
There's the strobing lights, all the fatuous completely pointless choice, and to top it off, the 'How are you?', which is there (I assume) to drive some difficult-to-conceptualise point home.

This is the end of the thread.
