Local daytime TV commercials

Posted by Poet on February 28, 2007, at 13:58:19

According to my daytime viewing I must be

1. overweight
2. looking for a great career in _____
3. have been in an accident and looking to sue

Okay, in my mind I am overweight. Yes, I am looking for a great career, but a fly by night unacredited school isn't going to help me get it. Since I have caused most of my car accidents, I'm lucky I haven't been sued.

I really, really need a job. Someone tell the interviewer from last week to hire me. Today. Please?!

Hire Poet. Hire Poet. Hire Poet.

If the power of positive thought will move him, he can't help but be moved.

Hire Poet and Poet post on babble TV is too boring. Love Phillipa. Or look up something interesting and post it or some jokes.

Hi Lar,

Me? Tiny little? Really? So the mirror really does lie and I'm not...

I need to stop watching daytime TV, but those court shows are kind of like homework, because I'm taking legal classes. Was that bad justification or what?

Thanks for helping.

Hi Phillipa,

Daytime TV is boring, and those commercials are driving me crazy(crazier?) I will try to babble more and watch less. Or babble with the TV on, which I did tonight and barely paid attention to the TV.

Thanks for the hire me vibes.

It's really hard to try to reframe my negative thinking when it proves itself right time and time again. I try and fail and try hard and fail harder.

I'm really down about this, and honestly wish I were eligible for disability because then I wouldn't have to put myself through this anymore.

Hi Poet,

I'm so sorry that you didn't get offered that job. I hope some of the good energy coming your way did a little bit of good anyway.

I think I know what you mean about it being hard to reframe your thinking in the face of so much defeat. I have been trying to accomplish a project for several years now and it keeps getting rejected. Everyone tells me to just keep trying, not to give up, but with all that rhetoric about "listen to what the universe is trying to tell you" it's hard not to think that the universe is telling me to quit trying on this one project. Periodically I take a break from trying to get it accepted (the current break has lasted over a year), which helps. But it's really painful.

I'm sorry.

take care,
philyra

<< but with all that rhetoric about "listen to what the universe is trying to tell you" it's hard not to think that the universe is telling me to quit trying on this one project.

I so agree, and wish I knew what the universe is trying to tell me, maybe it's just wishfull thinking that I will get a job in my field that uses my brain. I hope not...

The only way you'll fail is if you stop trying. The more times you interview the more chances you have. I've been where you are and the only thing that NEVER failed me was to keep trying no matter what! When I didn't get what I thought was my dream job, (and I had secretly convinced myself it was my only chance) I felt like giving up. But I knew if I did that I would DEFINITELY never get what I wanted. So try not to think of every interview like "Well this is it". Try to think of them as a means to an end. I believe if I hadn't gone through so many interviews beforehand, I wouldn't have had the confidence to do well in my interview to get the job I have now.

No, the movers come tomorrow evening. I just have to take the occasional break from my halfhearted attempts at packing. I'll probably be up all night.
