.....and watch dvds on my laptop. Right now, I'm watching Eddie Izzard and he's very good. So good, in fact, I think I have some new wrinkles from where I have been laughing too much.
But I have to say its a rare 'treat' to watch anything.
Hey Declan, did you ever watch that um, what was it? They were a couple of sisters (?) who were a parody of a certain sub-set of Oz life.... I never saw any myself (obviously!) but apparently they won awards and stuff. What was it called? Something like 'Charlene and Tracey'???

Yeah, I've forgotten what it's called too. Mainly I like to watch films from Mongolia like "The Weeping Camel" and "The Cave of the Yellow Dog". I'm a bit suss of the anglo world...except for the truly excellent Ricki Gervais.
I see from the links a reference to "Since Omar Left". From Georgia (former USSR) in Russian, Georgian and French. The best movie perhaps I've seen.

Watch something live? Heaven forbid!!!! ;)
It's awesome, but I always record way more than I'll ever have time to watch. I rely on the Season Passes, though, for the shows I do watch regularly. And when you are watching something and just can't understand what someone's saying, which seems to be happening more and more on drama shows these days, you can rewind and replay with the sound muted and the closed-captioning on to figure it out. Love that, too. We used to do that at least 2-3 times an episode with West Wing. Darned mumbling, talking over each other actors.
I think my husband finally deleted the Super Bowl this past week after watching that most excellent Colts victory many times over. We've got our own "Coach's clicker" with Tivo.
Love it. Can ya tell?

Apart from some vague reference to it on Sex and the City once, I have no idea what Tivo is, nor have I ever heard of it. ? I'm guessing its like some digital recording thing? Well anyway. Its pretty ignorant of me, I know. Perhaps its a Sky thing? You know, cable (satelite?) and all that. I have no idea. As you can probably tell.
Oh well. I doubt I'll be getting Tivo anytime soon!

My favorites are Lost, Grey's Anatomy & Family Guy.
I ordered DirectTV (satellite) for my new apt with a DVR (same as Tivo). I've never had cable so I'm really excited. I didn't order any movie channels just basic. I think I'm most excited about seeing my regular shows without all the snow!

They're not as good looking as I'd hoped.

I Tivo a few random shows and never watch them, mostly The Daily Show and Colbert Report and the Keith Olbermann Show, and a bunch of reality shows that I never watch, unless I have to do my exercises and then I sometimes watch one to keep me from screaming. (Although you'd think they'd make me scream. Sometimes they do. Then I try another one.)
I can only watch on Tivo, though. I can't bear commercials.

I, too, am addicted to TiVo. I simply can not watch live TV. To be honest, commercials kind of make me mad anymore.
Except for those Taco Bell commercials with the lions. Those crack me up.
But the shows I record to watch:
Scrubs
Medium
Criminal Minds
House - although it isn't on much anymore, and it's just not that good this season.
Old miami vice re-runs on TVland.
Dr. G. Medical Examiner
Untold stories of the ER.maddie

My swing shift schedule makes Tivo a must for us. I record Attack of the show on G4, Letterman, Xplay, on a nightly basis, and then whatever one time only stuff I wanna see. (racing etc) I often find my self hitting the "jump forward" button on live tv trying to avoid the commercials. Hate it when that happens.

i always think 'if i had my own show, it'd be jsut like his.' the crowd would applaud me when i had guests.
i like his attitude. i like his style. i love how he's such a conservative (is it a joke he takes with him everywhere? because he sure takes it everywhere, doesn't he?). i wouldn't be that far out there, but i sure would be that conceited!
that's another show i like to watch, even his interviews!

We don't have TV hooked up. It's downstairs in the rec room & I never tended to watch it except for the winter Olympics. We unhooked it years ago one time when our son moved out. We never hooked it up again.
We watch a lot of DVD's or videos. Bought some sets of Seinfeld shows, which we enjoy. Recently we've watched old episodes of Prison Break & The 70's Show & Black Books on an internet site where you can watch TV shows.
Has anyone ever seen Black Books? British comedy. My husband & I find it funny.

trust me, their personalities make up for their lack of physical attributes (wow, that kinda sounded smart, i sure hope i spelled everything right!).
seriously, they're pretty cool cats. i think i like frylock the best, as he's always hatching some scheme gettign into some sort of problems (including plastic surgery, boobie (can you say boobie here or will it get bleeped?) trapping carl's house, tryign to take over the planet, adn other off the wall stuff. if they were blonde and lived under water, it jsut wouldn't be the same. i like the idea of a happy meal on crack much better.
and that meat wad with the speech impediment, i just love (maybe because i kinda look like a meat wad and have a sort of speech impediment. trust me, i can't say she sells sea shells by the sea shore. and i have real issues with other words too, like frustrated (especially when i am). i swear, i've convinced myself i have a lisp. a cute one, but one still.)
enough aboutme already, even i'm beginning to bore myself. but, i'm sure you're not :)

Well, I haven't had cable for very long because I can't afford it anymore....but I've been spending a few extra bucks just so I can at least get a clear tv reception. Otherwise, I was just watching the three free channels that you can pick up just out of the atmosphere!!
I love Criminal Minds. Favorite show. I try to watch it each week. But I'm more of a book reader than a tv watcher.
Other shows I will watch, if I'm in the mood or bored:
Lost
Grey's Anatomy
Cold Case (love the past-to-present-to-past type scenes, and the music is always from the time period of that particular episode. Pretty cool).
Brothers & Sisters (gotta love Sally Field)
The Amazing Race
Take care!

no, but i do love ab fab adn now for something completely different. anything like those? i do dig british humor. i always looked up to the anorexic one in ab fab. the one who always popped pills and claimed she hadn't eaten a bite since 1982 (i liked her character and her sense of humor). anyone else watch ab fab? which one am i talking about? i just don't want to bother looking her character up. she isn't the one who created the show, but the blonde one.
