TooScared! Appt w/ New P in 3Hrs! :{ Crisis!

Posted by Fivefires on February 26, 2007, at 14:01:07

I'm frozen stiff. This isn't me. This isn't the me I was b4 2005. Once again, my breakdown has stolen something of me. Things I used to manage well, are scattered about. An important appt. in 3hrs. In my head I'm hearing type out explaination of breakdown, type out list of meds (psych and medical), take ccs of MMRs, take ccs of lab, clean up nice and look (I used to do this so easily.) capable. Don't throw up red flags. Don't act like a seeker. Tell him this or that or what??? Here I am spiraling into some kind of crisis state when what lies b4 me could be a Godsend, but believe me, if anyone can mess up a Godsend, I can, inadvertently. I can visualize myself now coming home thinking to myself 'why did I say that?' ... 'what was I thinking?' ... 'I truly don't even feel that way, but I told him I did' ... 'why was I so evasive?'. It hasn't begun and already hope is lost.

Fill me up w/ GRACE; I say to a higher power and to you all.

Right now, I lie curled up in a ball inside my Dad's throw. I'm soooooo cold! The sun is shining and it's above 70degrees out there. Still afraid to take my clothing off. I'm scared stiff!

What can I do?

Hi 5F,

Take a deep breath, exhale slowly. Bring the list of meds, tell yourself to just answer the questions honestly, no matter how ticked off they may make you. Cross your arms and glare at the pdoc if s/he asks something you don't want to answer (works for me.)

Post what happened. I'm surrounding you with white light and holding it for you.

Wonderful. Very nice and thorough P. He wanted to run thyroid tests, which my current has never made mention of. He was very down to earth.

He asked what my prob' was ... more depression or more anxiety. (I thought .. that's a first!) I answered 'anxiety' of course.

He wrote a scrip for the new Xanax long lasting.

I was so excited to replace Valium as I've become an inanimate object, less than a person, for too long a time now.

But, the cost for me to buy the scrip is $250.

No luck 4me. So much for the grace.

I'm sorry; I shouldn't say such things.

Thank you for asking Gee.

So you're getting the thyroid tests? good. Now you got the xanax too. Just what you wanted happened. Check the online pharmacies or Costco has the lowest prices. Love Phillipa

Quite possible that generic xanax, non long lasting, will do fine and is dirt cheap.

Otherwise the cheapest legit internet pharmacy (often the cheapest internet pharmacy) is: http://www.familymeds.com/familymeds/product_rx.asp?sku=Xanax+Xr&price=Y

Familymeds is certified by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy VIPPS program:

http://vipps.nabp.net/verify.asp

There are some patient assistance programs for generic xanax:

http://www.needymeds.com/drug_list.taf?_function=name&name=Xanax

Xanax XR is new, they may have a patient assistance program for XR, you would need to contact Pfizer: http://www.pfizer.com/pfizer/contact/mn_contact.jsp

Fivef - that is just WONDERFUL. I'm so glad to hear everything except the price of the meds!

Have you looked into if the company that makes it will provide assistance for folks who can't afford it? I heard that sometimes that happens.

I am SO glad about the pdoc. Some are winners. Not mine, who said come back in a month or 2 when my son was in the hospital & dealing with bad ideation.

I am really glad you got a good. Maybe things are shifting for you FF. You deserve that to happen.

hugs, Kath

Yeah, I know muffled, and was really surprised this would be so diff'. I should have asked the P; maybe he would have known that the XR was much more expensive.

What I got from WG is generic & WG has my scrip at this point. Am I entitled to ask to have it back after requesting an amount of only 15 tablets? Anyone know?

I called 1-800-555-1212 for a Greenstone #, or brand UpJohn #; no listings. (Ya' know .. can get some meds discounted if apply for assistance directly to company.)

At this point, don't know what will do; live on only $900 a month.

ps I feel 'much better, a lot better', but this might not be proper to discuss further here re: P conflict of interest. Any1 feel free 2 babble; suggestions appreciated.

Oh Kath ...

If only I had the $ or someone would help me (not here, that's not what I mean) that's in my life. There are those that could, but don't.

Tks hon, 5f
