Didnt manage to log on for couple of days, I had a very busy Friday/Sat/Sunday, by Sunday night I was too tired really so had an early night. Was woken at 2.30am having a horrible attack of 'skipping heartbeats' which I havnt had for weeks now. This led to panic, causing more palpitations, a vicious circle. I was so disappointed that this has recurred. I have been following the diet the nutrionist gave me to the letter, it's really restricting but I'll do anything to feel better. It felt like a real setback.
I went to the doctor, he doesnt seem keen to link my problems to Candida.
I feel better this morning, hence logging on.
In two weeks I've gone from 154lb to 143lb.
Determined not to let anxiety start ruling my day and night again. Just want to feel better.

Have you ever tried imagery or meditation - sounds new-agey, but with practice - it works.

That's an impressive weight loss. Are you trying to lose weight? (Most people are, but if I lose weight, it's NOT a good thing. I weigh 120 these days & went swimming on Sat & hadn't since August & my bathing suit bottom kept slipping down!! LOL I'd already noticed that I'd lost some 'bust'; not that there was much anyhow! LOL but anyway, if you're trying to lose weight, good for you.
Hey Jo - I do NOT think there are many doctors who would link pretty-well-anything to Candida!!!
But there are problems that in my totally-unhumble-opinion ARE DEFINITELY linked to Candida overgrowth. I'm quite into holistic & alternative medicine & I'm lucky in that I can mention stuff to my doctor, who readily admits he knows nothing about certain things, but says if it works for me he's happy & stick with it. I knew he was very open-minded; otherwise I probably wouldn't have dared to be so open myself about things!Good luck; hope you feel better; things will improve; I'm here for you!!!
hugs, Kath

Phillipa - there are various methods. You can do a visualization one - some people imagine a candle, or a lovely seashore, etc. Or you can have a calming sentence or series of words.
One method of dealing with the mind is to 'hear' what it says, then let that drift away. Say you were repeating the words "calm & peaceful" over & over VERY slowly & at intervals & you started to think of what to make for supper - you could tell yourself "I'll think about that later." then again repeat "calm & peaceful". I think an important thing with meditation is to be VERY patient with yourself. Also to start out with small doses if necessary. Say 5 minutes & increase by a few minutes each time.

Thanks so much for your messages. I will give meditation a go, especially when I'm having an episode of funny heartbeats - it might help to calm me down.
You're right I'm sure Kath, I have heard a few instances where docs do not want to even acknowledge candida over growth as a condition!
You're very fortunate to have an understanding doctor. I will continue with my regime, despite my docs non-committal attitude.
I wasnt particularly trying to lose weight, the nutrionist did say that I would - but it's a happy by - product of the diet I guess!
Thanks again
Jo
