or caffeine,or alcohol, doc says I have to cut all this stuff out. No stimulants at all. England in winter is like living in a cold swamp, I need the cheer of a huge slab of choc, a giant mug of strong tea and maybe a tipple in the evenings. What can I replace them with???

Li does white chocolate not have the caffeine? As when at the computer at night I eat mounds of dark chocolate and then have a panic attack. Love Phillipa gave up tea and coffee.

Thanks for your suggestions, boy, the headache I've had since giving up the'bad' stuff - guess I'm de-toxing! Am trying the herbal teas - I'd previously hated them - without ever having tried one! I actually dont mind them, especially Lemon and Ginger in the morning, not quite the same as a caffeine hit, but it does wake you up - and I'm sure I read that models have lemon tea - there could be hope for me yet!
I think the darker the chocolate, the more caffeine it has??? Although dark is supposed to have more anti-oxidants.

I'm rebelling going to the Mall to the Lindt truffle store and buying the darkest chocolate truffles they have so there. And yes a headache and anxiety attack. Love Phillipa

Oooooh Phillipa I'm jealous, Llindt is my fave. I'd like to lie as suggested by Phil and carry on regardless, but the caffeine is causing PVC's (skipping heartbeats), which scares the heck out of me, bringing on panic, and, of course this makes it worse - catch 22! I'm having a Holter test in coupla weeks which involves wearing a heart monitor for 24 hours, and I've got to 'induce' the PVC's. I'm terrified of doing this (despite the allure of a choc - fest). Really, I think it may be better to just cut out caffeine forever, cancel the test and hope the problem just goes away.Jo

Sounds serious Jo. I've had tachycardia a few times
and it's impossible to calm your mind when your heart's beating like Charlie Watts on the drums.
Hope all goes well for you. Sounds like you're in good hands.P

Well that's a good reason to stop. But right now I'm having a lindt truffle. And I will pay for it later when I try and relax. Impossible. Love Phillipa ps I hope the Holter comes out okay and there is a special on dark chocolate in the Lindt stores so if you have to eat them for the test they are on sale now.

Good luck,
There's a coffee substitute drink that I quite like - it's called Caf Lib - Dark Roast.
I send my support to you. I'm a confirmed tea-granny & know how hard it would be for me to stop.
You sound motivated, so that will help you.
hugs, Kath
