So me and my roomate had got into a dispute about the thermostat.
There is one main thermostat, and then separate thermostats for all our separate rooms.
He doesn't understand the concept of the whole thing, but anyway, he keeps turning off the main thermostat which makes it impossable for me to have heat in my room.
I tell him to keep the main thermostat on, and then if he is too hot he can turn of the thermostat in his room.
Anyhow, he doesn't listen.
Back and forth, on and off hundreds of times.
So, while is out, I open up the thermostat and hard-wire it on.
He looks at the thing and sees that it is off, and he things he has won the dispute, but really I have won.Ha Ha Ha.

I don't know.
The thing is that as long as he keeps his own thermostat in his room off, there will be no difference for him. The only difference is that I can have heat in my room.
He might figure it out, but even if he figures it out, I don't think he'll know whats going on.

Link you are the master of solder lol
I lived with a woman once who turned the master thermostat down low ('cause HER part of the apt was well-insulated). Well, I never did figure out how come my damn radiator was only weakly activated by my setting it at MAX 24/7. And I lived my life by studying in several layers (including 2 pairs of socks and a hat) and left my bedroom door open whenever her 6-year-old terror of a son was not running around (i.e. whenever he was at school) and silently, secretly *hoped* that she would feel robust guilt over freezing her over-paying roommate.
Nope.
Could have used some of your handyman skills...
