So what is your favorite type of Christmas cookie? Does anyone have any favorite recipes?
I'm planning on giving cookies to several people this year, including my therapist. I dont do a lot of baking, and I'm just not sure what to make!

Sugar Cookies!! Or Gingerbread. Sugar cookies are fun because after you have them all cut out, you can take egg white and food colouring and "paint" them, then bake them. It's kinda fun. But gingerbread is goo dbecause it's easy. You could also go for the non bake kind, or shortbread, or.... Can you tell what I'll be doing later on in the month (well besides eating...)?

Hi wishingstar,
>>So what is your favorite type of Christmas cookie? Does anyone have any favorite recipes?<<
My favs are sugar cookies, fudge and Peanut Butter Blossoms. I've got a killer recipe for fudge if your interested. Here's the receipe for:
Peanut Butter Blossoms1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp baking soda
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
2 tbsp milk
1-3/4 cup flour
Mix ingredients. Make into tbsp sized balls. Roll in powdered sugar. Bake 10-12 minutes on 375 degrees. Remove from oven, press a hershey's kiss in the center of each ball while still hot.happykat :)

thanks everyone for the ideas! im thinking exactly what you said gee.. probably either gingerbread or sugar cookies. Both are simple and difficult to mess up, which is great for me. Those peanut butter ones sound delicious though happykat.. I'm going to have to make them for myself one day. I love peanut butter. Especailly if its combined with chocolate.
And no, not odd not to eat others baked goods. I guess I'm too much of a sugar addict to even think that far... someone puts cookies in front of me and I dont care where they came from, I'm eating them! :)
