Tks to L, know tomorrow is officially the deadline for sending letters/cards to military in Iraq if wish it to arrive on Christmas.
My sis-in-law emailed me back after I emailed her and asked her if my nephew could use USA bills there. She said YES. I will, of course, mention to my nephew, a $5 bill is in his card.
what do ya' guys think?

I think that's a really nice gesture- lets someone know that he's remembered by his far away family.
