I was lying down in a not very good state, thinking along the lines of "Well, there's no correct way of seeing things anyway", and then found myself saying "What do I care wast what?"

I'm sorry things sound pretty rough for you right now, though.
As for "correct," I think maybe if you change that to "average," you can ease up a little. And if you're thinking in terms of "correcting your distortions" or some such -- y'all know I'm not a fan of CBT, right? -- then maybe "reframing" (ha!) that as "looking at it from a perspective that creates a healthier outcome for you" or something?
I don't know. I know that there is something to the CBT concept of reframing certain thoughts. I don't tend to look at it as "incorrect" thoughts -- more the thoughts that cause me unnecessary pain. So, for instance, if I can change, "I am ugly because I am fat and have crooked legs," to "I'm feeling yucky and am attributing it to something that really isn't the problem," I can maybe feel better. Or not.
I don't know, Dec. I do know that I'm sorry you're having a rough time.

It was just one of those difficult moments on the border of coherance.

I can imagine not being able to find a basis for saying anything. Maybe that's when they cart you off or you get yourself to a retreat where you aren't allowed to talk. You know how you can stand in front of the canned tomatoes and have a difficult moment remembering on what basis you might conceivably make a selection? Or deciding what you think about something? Like the difference between losing and finding yourself. This is starting to sound like Jesus. What was it? Except that you lose your life you will not find it, or something not dissimilar?
The rigmarole.
This is the end of the thread.
