Those in the Toronto area may have heard of this, but an online friend of mine is missing on a lake in Ontario..

The Hebrew word for "life" is "chai", which has a numerical value of 18. Consequently, the custom has arisen in Jewish circles to give donations and monetary gifts in multiples of 18 as an expression of blessing for long life.

Heine's body has been found.. his son in law is still missing.
His family must be hurting so.. and H was such a deeply deeply caring man.. A true individual, and I can honestly say I have never "met" anyone with his ability to love everyone.
Rest in peace H.. you will *never* be forgotten. If for nothing else, you taught me the meaning of your 18, and its something I now take deep into my heart..
