Anyone ever just not feel like sleeping? I don't really get tired at night. I'm a night person. No matter how early I get up, I still don't go to sleep until late.
I'm better when I have to get up early consistently. I usually sleep at around 1 or 2 a.m. then.
I think I got too much sleep a few days ago and now I'm able to go without sleep.
It's kind of lonely late at night. Everyone is sleeping. It's 4 a.m. right now, still not sleepy. Don't know if I even want to sleep tonight. I got up at 10 a.m. today (or should I say yesterday LOL).
I have an appointment with my pdoc tomorrow. I've been really wanting to see her this past while. I have many things to discuss with her.
So......what is everyone doing right now? Sleeping.
It's okay to write what I think here right? At another site, they consider it blogging and it's not acceptable.
I like how we don't have rules about hijacking threads here. I don't mind when my threads get hijacked. Sometimes they lead to very interesting discussions. I like how threads here are more like in real life discussions...taking turns talking, not just focusing on the person who started the conversation, but just going where the conversation leads.
---------
I think sleeping too much can lead to depression. What do you think about that? Or is it the other way around? Depression can lead to sleeping too much? Hmmm...I think I sleep too much when I'm depressed. Maybe it's atypical depression. Hmmm... Or maybe it's just me wanting to escape life.
I'm not depressed anymore. Also not sleepy anymore. Hmmm...coincidence?
I think I read somewhere that not sleeping can bring people out of depression.
4:13 a.m. Hmmmm....
I really should get in a little bit of sleep... Still not tired, but there's nothing to do.
(yawn)
(stare at screen)
Sleep it is then.
Good nite!

Deneb do you go through periods of sleeping a lot and then not needing sleep? Discuss this with the pdoc could be bipolar just a thought. And I'm not a doctor so don't worry. Love Phillipa

I don't often feel like sleeping.... especially when I'm getting a bit manic.
Then again, my doc now has me on up to 300 mg Trazodone, 400 mg Seroquel. That tends to put me out in short order... wanting to sleep or not.
Having a commitment now to take my meds correctly, I usually fall asleep at night.

Me too. Sleeping is a hobby, isn't it? :)
And actually, sleeping a lot is a very good indicator that I'm getting depressed again. Or that I'm avoiding something I have to do.
But still. I have excellent dreams. Hours of entertainment. I love sleeping!
Sigh. I wish I had time for a nap.

Just took a 3 hour nap. Feels good, but not sure it was a good idea. Now I won't get tired until morning again.
Bad sleep habits.
My pdoc told me to go to bed and wake up 15 mins earlier each day. I'm going to try that. Tonight I'm going to bed at 3:45 a.m. and I'm going to wake up at 12:45 p.m.
Tomorrow I'm going to bed at 3:30 a.m. and wake up at 12:30 p.m.
My goal is to get up at 9 a.m. and go to bed at midnight.
My pdoc told me to set my alarm to go to bed and wake up. That's what I'm going to do.

yeah, those are really good strategies. Your pdoc sounds very clever. When I travel internationally, I usually need about 1 day per hour of time difference. Travelling to Asia is the worst- 10-14 hours difference, and it usually takes me 2 weeks to adjust. your 15 minute adjustment might take a long time though. What's your eventual goal? bed @ midnight, up at 8 am? Do you know how much sleep your body needs when it's on a regular schedule?
I use my cell phone as an alarm clock. It works really well.
Keeping normal hours will also help with your loneliness. It gets pretty quiet after midnight.
sweet dreams,

My plan didn't work. It's almost 4:30 a.m. now and I'm nowhere near tired.
I think I'll skip sleeping tonight. I'm going to have to force myself to not oversleep tomorrow night.
I should go outdoors, see some sun, or light at least. It might reset my internal clock.
