I talked to myself a lot while I was on the Babble Trip. When I was alone, I talked to myself. It was funny, I would talk to myself about talking to myself. LOL
Is it possible to *not* be crazy and talk to oneself? LOL
I would talk to myself about how crazy it was to talk to myself. LOL
Oh dear...
LOL
I have interesting conversations with myself.
I hope it's not noticeable! Look at her! Who's she talking to? Her imaginary friend? LOL

It's especially rewarding since I always laugh at my jokes.

I always talk to myself when I'm shopping for some reason. I catch myself and look around to see if I'm getting any looks, but I haven't yet (that I'm aware of). I think its a kind of new thing that I started when I got my cat - I talk to him all the time.

I always wondered if those people who wear the cell phone that clips on their ear might just do that so they can get away with talking to themselves (and look important at the same time.)

Hmmmm...perhaps we are all crazier than we thought... LOL
Just kidding.
Maybe we just tell the truth, everyone else is lying.
One of my friends has one of those hands free headsets for her cellphone and she uses it all the time. I must admit, it looks pretty strange...it looks like she talks to herself.
Just what I need, as if I weren't crazy enough. LOL

We have some interesting conversations.

I'm not sure why, but in my neighborhood I see LOTs of people talking to themselves. Out loud. Walking down the sidewalk. In the bus, at the store. Some times I've even seen people ARGUING with themselves. That can be kind of distressing.
Mostly it's either the super smart kids or the street people. Occasionally I will be so wrapped up in some inner torment that I burst out into a live one on one debate as I walk to my next appointment.
I would be really worried if the inner voice stopped talking to me. Gave me the silent treatment. Who would I hang out with?

You mention street people not to offend anyone but lots of schizophrenics live on the street and do this sort of thing the arguing with the voices in their heads. And my favorite pts used to be schizophrenics they are loving. Love Phillipa

I think a lot of street people might get lonely, or are out of practice having conversations with people. [Aside from mental illness issues, which are very prevalent, and often undertreated in this population]. I learned a lot about street people from my psychologist today. He works with them too, in addition to priveleged snots like myself with my spiffy computer and my iPod and my squeaky clean tennis shoes and my fancy degrees.

I was in a hotel room once and my friend was in the bathroom. This was early in the morning in the US and he's from England, and I heard him having an animated discussion. I concluded that he must have been on a cell phone.
When he came out I mentioned that I'm still not accustomed to people talking on cell phones everywhere, and my friend's friend started laughing - "He hasn't GOT a cell phone!"
Apparently he habitually not only talks to himself, but even argues with himself out loud!
