I'll keep this short and simple.
I've been in love with this girl since I first met her 8 years ago, freshman year of high school. I am 22 now and I am still in love with her. From the time I first met her I knew I'd love this girl (whether she loved me or not) for a long time, I remember telling myself that when I was only 15.
She doesn't know it. I'm too shy to even talk to her. I've never even flirted with her. Never told her how I feel. And I haven't even talked to her in nearly 3 years, but I still think about her every day and worry about her for no reason.
Is 8 years too long? Especially for me, because I know I'll never be with her. I don't have the courage to talk to her.
Will I spend my life obsessing over her?

If she's not in a committed relationship, ask her out. If that's not going to happen then love yourself enough to let it go. It just keeps you from moving forward with your life.

true love i believe lasts forever. it doesn't mean you cannot one day move on but that you'll always have a special place in your heart for her. i say to love and lost is better than never loving at all, meaning GO FOR IT! we get one chance in this world ;o)

you've GOt to ask her out.
but agree with the others, because you love her intensely doesn't mean you're meant to be together. sometimes the greatest loves don't last.
BUT you don't know till you try! you've got to make that effort.
we're behind you. you can do it!

I say ask her out. What's the worst that happen she'll say no?. After eight years its time to either get on the horse or get off and move on. Love Phillipa there is more than one person in everyones life that is right for you now find them.

If she's not seeing anyone, I know she'll say yes.
But it's complicated than people describe it.
My problem is that I know eventually she wouldn't want to see me anymore (or atleast I know the odds are against me), and I don't think I'd be able to take it.
I WORSHIP her and I'd be in shambles if she didn't want to see me anymore.
