The first: a doorbell, that when rung more than once by any person under 18, would administer a shock strong enough to send flying backwards off my porch.

c-t that's ageist. What if it's cute little munchkins trick-or-treating?

But I didn't think they were allowed to trick-or-treat on Canada Day?

you're right, of course. On Canada Day, there is only treat-or-treat. Canadians are too special to have ritualized pranking.
And since the little munchkins get all ramped up on too much maple syrup, who can blame them if they get a little over-eager to ring the doorbell?

On Halloween, the zap should get them the first time they ring the bell!

Oh no!
I hate the idea of zapping little ones!
I know teenagers can be pretty obnoxious, but the little ones are usually guilty of exuberance, nothing more criminal than a fast metabolism and undeveloped prefrontal cortex!

ooh. touche
I'm terrified of being a parent. Are we talking about other people's kids, or our own? but, I love kids. I work with them every day, little babies, adolescents, special needs kids, poor kids, rich kids, brilliant kids, umm. yeah.
I guess if your invention can determine who's under 18, it can probably sort out the kids with good intentions from the kids who need a little lesson. Rude kids, yes, they can be little terrors. I'm just opposed to indiscriminant shock therapy...
